Question about hair extensions that fall out

Getting hair extensions can be a big task. There are many different types of hair extensions and methods for attaching them. See letter to the Editor below about specifics of getting hair extensions.

Questions for the Editor:
When extensions are guaranteed, are fallen extensions reattached at no charge, or are you expected to pay for the hair again.? Please let me know what is typical or most common.

Managing Editor Response:
These are very good questions that you are asking. There is nothing worse than paying thousands of dollars for extensions and having to go back and have to pay to re-attach any that have fallen.

If your extensions fall out, you should definitely try to save them so that the stylist can just re-attach them, and not have to use more extension hair. If you don't save the fallen extensions, you will probably have to pay for more hair.

Most reputable extension stylists will offer so many re-attached hair extensions as a part of the fee you pay for the extensions. It is normal to have a few extensions fall out.

As a stylist if the extensions do fall out very soon after you got the extensions in then there should be no charge. However, if you have had your extension in for a long period of time (6-8 weeks) you extensions will begin to slip due to wear and tear. This is common and is no fault of the hair stylist. After a certian period of time people should be charged for their hair to be sewn back in.
