How to get long hairstyles quickly

The popular hairstyle this season is the longer hairstyle. The shorter bobs and layered cuts are fading from popularity for longer, more flowing styles.

If you don't have long hair, but want to get these beautiful long hairstyles that are showing up everywhere, you can always get hair extensions.

Hair extensions involve attaching human or synthetic hair to your natural hair by one of many different methods. The extensions can be left in the hair anywhere from several weeks to several months, depending on the method used and the quality and type of hair used.

Hair Extensions aren't for everyone

Everyone wants to look trendy, especially when it comes to the hair. Wanting to get gorgeous long hair is very normal, but sometimes getting hair extensions may not be the best option for everyone.

If you hair is overly damaged or brittle, you may not want to get hair extensions. The extra stress that human hair puts on your roots can cause your hair to fall out. Probably you would like to have hair, even if it is damaged.

However, there are some hair extension methods that are specifically designed for damaged hair and you might want to go for a few consultations with a certified hair stylist just to check it out.

How much do hair extensions cost?

Hair Extensions Costs

One of the first questions that many women ask when they start thinking about getting hair extensions is "How much do they cost" This is probably not the place to start, but it will give you a good idea as to whether you should pursue getting hair extensions.

Probably the biggest factor, other than the costs of course, in getting hair extensions is the efffect the hair extensions will have on your natural hair in the long run. Will you be sacrificing short-term long gorgeous hair for long-term damaged hair?

The best way to get answers to your questions about hair extensions is to schedule several hair extension consulations and ask a lot of questions. In the Ebook, Hair Extensions Exposed, there is an entire chapter devoted to the hair extension consultation.

What should you ask the stylist about during the consultations. What are the major red flags you need to be aware of during a consultation. Are there warning signs for a bad hair extension stylist? How do you check out the stylist to make sure they are properly trained or certified to do hair extensions.

Answers to all of these questions can be found the Hair Extensions Exposed. For a short time only, there is a $25 coupon off the full retail price. The Ebook can be ordered 24/7 and you will be directed immediately to the download page upon payment.

Options for hair extensions

So, you want to get hair extensions......

Today there are so many different options for hair extensions. If you are pressed for time and money, there are clip-in extensions or temporary extensions that last for just a few weeks. If you have time and money, there are the more permanent type of extensions that can last for several months.

In between the two extremes, no money and plenty of money, there lies many different hair extension methods to choose from. Each method has distinct advantages over others and you must carefully compare these methods to choose the right method for your hair type.

Not every hair extension method will work for everyone. Be aware that some methods have been exclusively designed for different types of hair, i.e. damaged hair, thin hair, thinning hair, etc.

It is very important that you schedule 2-4 hair extension consultations and compare methods and costs before you ever make the decision to extend. And whatever you do, don't every sign an agreement during the consulation. Always wait a few days to read over everything very carefully and prepare a list of questions that you might have.

Hair extensions have the potential to cause damage to your hair. Take your decision to extend very seriously. If things don't go right, you could end up with damaged hair....and lose tons of money trying to fix problems.

Sore Scalp after Getting Hair Extensions

Letter to the Editor:
I just had hair extensions put in and love them so far. I doing more research and found your great website. I want to buy one of the on-line books, but am not sure which of the two that apply to me to get. I am concerned about care and maintenance at this point more than anything. However, I would like to learn more about how they were applied as well. I am wondering why it was so uncomfortable when they were applied. The Great Lengths system was used on me. My scalp was sore for a few days. Is this normal?

Answer:
Both of the Ebooks, 2005's Most Popular Hair Extensions and Hair Extensions-The Official Consumers Guide to Getting Hair Extensions have care and maintenance tips for hair extensions. The tips encompass all the different methods available today. Some methods will have special care instructions that you hair stylist should be telling you about. Our tips are more general in nature, a compilation from many different extension hair stylists and hair extension companies.

Both books also contain the details of 27 different hair extension methods. The most recent details are in the Hair Extensions-The Official Consumers Guide to Getting Hair Extensions, along with several before and after photos. The Ebook, Hair Extensions Exposed is the most complete of all our Hair Extensions Book. It contains details on over 37 different hair extension methods along with a large Bonus Before/After hair extension photo gallery, a Hair Extension Comparison Chart and a Hair Extension Suitability Test. It is available at http://www.hairextensionsexposed.com

As to your Great Lengths extensions application issue, no application of extensions should hurt. You say "uncomfortable", and that your scalp was sore for a few days. I am not sure that this should be the case with these types of extensions. I do know, from my extensive research on hair extensions that the application of the hair extensions should not hurt you in any way. If it does hurt, then they may not be applied correctly. A specific method that I know this refers to is the braiding method, where your natural hair is braided and the extensions are sewn into the braid. If the braids are done too tightly, you will have a very sore scalp and possible hair loss issues down the road.

I can understand the scalp being a little sore, but from the added weight of the extension hair not from the application procedure. Human hair is very heavy.

Did you verify that your hair stylist was a certified Great Lengths Stylist?
